Question about ViewSonic VX900 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
My 3 yr old lcd vx900 monitor suddenly went blank except when I cycle power. The image then appears just fine for one second and then goes blank again. View sonic said it was the inverter (power). And would cost $120. Does this sound right?
No, Viewsonic has the part for sale 42.99 - free shipping. Easy to replace

Search for "VX900 inverter" on eBay. A company from China sells for $21, new, free shipping.

Yes. The inverter WAS the problem. LCDPart.Com sells it for $80 and has a PDF document that guides you to change it. If you are on a budget, an outfit from China sells them on eBay for $21, shipping, included. The only problem is that their part is wider and shorter. So, although it works, you have to tape it down in place because it does not fit where the original comes.

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.

exactly the same problem that I have. The screen only flashes on for a split sec and then goes black.
Yes I have the same model with the exact same problem.
Same problem. When I turn the monitor on, the image flashes for a fraction of a second then the screen goes black (but the green light stays on which indicates the computer is still sending it the signal). Same whether I use DB15 or DVI.
