Its an easy fix, you got into the service mode somehow, its used for calibrating colors ect...the easy way to fix this is to do a factory reset, that will reset the TV to the settings it had when it was new..I've include a link to the service manual, i didn't go through it to find the page you need but its easy to factory reset a TV with the manual...Good luck! There should be a button on your remote that says "TV/USB". Try clicking it, that should take you to a blue screen that says No Signal, click Input, and you should be able to access your cable from the list of Input sources. This happened to me today, very annoying and unnecessarily confusing, especially since most buttons you press result in a screen that reads "Not Available." Urrgghhh.
Had the same problem. Purchased Haier 42" model 42EP24S from Sears and it broke in 1 1/2 years. Couldn't find anyone to fix it so I ordered part Service Kit: TV-3940-01 from www.searspartsdirect.com the cost was $150.00. If your warranty is up and you're okay with doing your own work. :-)
Replaced 3 boards (instruction included) and my tv is back in action.
Harish.......If you've lost both audio and video you'll probably need the upgrade kit. If it were just video you could get by for sometime with replacing the slow blow fuse on the s-zus board. Check your eprom chip on the digiatal board to see if it appears burnt. If so it may have fried. If you'd like the service manual I'll need your email address
No. Either you have in a 'video' mode (inputs) or it's a defective unit.
Bring it back to the store and let them bare the weight - sorry about your disappointing purchase. Better luck next time around. :/
