You have a hard drive failure. i suggest you take the drive out. if you can. attach it to a usb to sata if possible and run a diskchk and before you do that you can backup docs to the machine you got it attached to. If you are not getting a windows option in anyway shape or form you have a hard drive failure which is why it does not give you any options.

Good Luck!

When I turn on my laptop it goes to a windows error recovery page and gives me the options to launch startup repair or start windows normally. When I launch the startup repair my screen goes black and only...

Sounds like the Windows Recovery Partition is corrupted or your hard drive may be faulty.

But, first try to boot your system in Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly as it boots) and choose Safe Mode or Last Known Good.

If it still doesn't boot properly, try the diagnostics to determine if a hardware problem - boot your system and press F 12 (or F2) repeatedly.

Hope this helps.

I have a 1998 Audi A6. the drivers' side window starts to go up, stops and then goes back down. Holding the window up by hand will stop it, but then it goes straight back down when you let go. What's...

its the "rollback"facility, its supossed to stop and rollback when some idiot has there fingers trapped in the reset, lower window and spray runners with silicon, then put key in door and unlock/hold key over(all windows will go down).then lock/hold key over all windows will go up,this will reset the "rollback" settings.

I adjusted screen resolution on my HP mini notebook now when I turn on I get to Window XP then screen goes blank after that.

You selected a device-resolution that your LCD screen does not support.
Restart your computer, and immediately press the 'F8' key until you see the Windows "start-up" menu (white text over a black background). Select "Start in VGA mode" or "Start in Safe Mode".
Reset the device-resolution to a "low" value, e.g. 800-by-600, that is supported. Later, you can "tune" the resolution to the "best" value.

When I start my dell 9300, the Windows start up is on screen, and then it goes black. I can start windows in safe mode ok and the display is fine, but out of safe mode the display goes black again

When you power up the computer presss F8 key then enter in :ENABLE VGA MODE "
Then go to control panel then dispaly ->settings then change screeen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
If still face problem then open cpu cabinet .
Rifix RAM memory.
Check your harddisk is detected in bios or not
Reattch connection to harddisk .
Pull cmos cell for 10 minutes so all bios settings are reset to defaults.

Maint. light reset

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.
