All I'm needing is to get some codes for my GPX D1816 DVD Player. I lost the remote and have another universal remote but i dont know the brand of universal remote i have. Are there any codes that will work for any universal remote??
no , most remotes are different so the codes will be different or not work for that piticular device , you must find out what remote you have , there may be tiny letters and numbers on the front or there may be a sticker in the battery section that has the remote controls identification letters and numbers

your remote will have the name (in your case "GE universal") and somewhere on the remote will be a model number, when you find it go to www.remotes.com or simply search for ...... "GE"+"universal remote"+"[your model number here]"+"manual"+"PDF" Then hit search and you will find a pdf file of the manual on the list of hits.
1.- TURN ON THE DVD PLAYER
2.- PRESS OPEN/CLOSE
3.- PRESS THE FOLOWING NUMBERS 8888
4.- PRESS ENTER UNTIL SHOW "Region code: 9" (Region Free)
5.- PRESS OPEN/CLOSE

Strangely enough, there are no remote codes that i can find... Universal remotes have a default fallback where you go thru the entire preprogrammed database to find one that work..
You might want to call the support number on the page and make your inquiry.
Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see where you want to set the DISH remoteto your GPX DVD player. There are no codes to put in manually but we do have aPower Scan that will go through all the codes and allow the programming to theDVD player, I will leave the link to help with these steps. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/power-scan-instructions
