Question about Kenwood KDC-MP2032 CD Player

Protect feature on kenwood car cd player

Was blasting music then the radio kicked off and said "protect". Nothing I'm doing can get it going again. Any suggestions??? Much appreciated. B

There may be a small pinhole on the front panel. find it and insert a pin (with power applied) to reset your radio. if this does not work, then go to the kenwood website and search for your item and then search for an 800 phone number to call for tech support

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

you probably blew either a speaker or the output ic in the radio.

When ever i turn on my engine which means my kenwood kdc237 shud come on its just flashing protect protect protect no matter wot i press nothig happens need help cant do without music.

If protect is coming up on the display, it means the system is detecting a short somewhere on one of the speakers and so is turning the amp off to avoid damage.
Check all the connections at the back of the amp to ensure they are not shorting, and at the back of each speaker, if nothing is found there, check each wire for damage, or a bare wire touching the body of the car

I have a Kenwood kdc-mp2035 and it says protect on the screen and plays no music. how do i get rid of that so i can listen to my music again????

You can try pressing the reset button, worked for me for months but now, for me, the "PROTECT" never goes away... But the reset button worked for months, give it a try!

Car radio says protect and want play music nor radio want do any thing

Kenwoods have a protection system that works when a speaker wire has grounded out.
Check all the speaker wire connections.

It turns off when in high volume

a few things...your speakers may not be a perfect match for the unit. at high volume where the radio starts to distort there is an internal protection circuit that protects the radio...it's kicking in.
solution. Buy a power amp and take the load off of the radio.

Protected

Wires are exposed. According to the manual, the wiring is grounding out or exposed at some point between the head unit and the speakers.
