Region locked DVD can only be read or recognized by the corresponding region DVD player. You need to make clear that what region code your DVD is. Check below table to find out:

  • Region 1 - United States, U.S. Territories, Canada, Bermuda
  • Region 2 - Europe, Japan, South-Africa, Middle-East, Egypt
  • Region 3 - SE-Asia, East-Asia, Hong Kong
  • Region 4 - Australia & NZ, South-America, Caribbean, Pacific
  • Region 5 - Eastern-Europe, Russia, Central- & South Asia, India, Africa
  • Region 6 - China
And you can use some methods below to play a region-locked DVD:
  • Method 1: Use the corresponding DVD player or a region-free DVD player
  • Method 2: Use region-free DVD player software
  • Method 3: Use DVD copy software to copy region-locked DVD to region-free DVD
  • Method 4: Use DVD ripper software to decrypt the region-code

If you do have a DVD player locked to a specific region and a bunch of DVDs with different region codes on them, you can make a region-free DVD copy of your region-locked DVD discs. Then the region-free DVD copy can be played on any DVD player. You can try Leawo DVD Copy, which is able to perform 1:1 lossless DVD copying, it can also help you compress DVD-9 to DVD-5 if you need.

SOURCE: what does wrong region mean?

HELLO
This occurs when you try to play a DVD from another country. It means that your player is not set up to read discs from that country. Look on the back of your player and it will tell you which region it is set up for (it will be a globe with a number on it).
Depending on what machine you have it may be possible to "hack" the machine via the remote control and set it to play all discs from all regions (to multi-region) it. Have a look on the web as there are many websites out there that will give you the info you need to hack the machine.
BE ADVISED! Not all machines can be hacked from the remote.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

What does the message Wrong Regional Disc mean

Almost all commercial DVDs that are sold have region code, which only allows the DVD to be played on DVD players that have this region code, and the only DVD players that typically do have this region code are those sold in that same region.

You can use a region free DVD player program to play your region-locked DVD discs on your computer. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player. Leawo Blu-ray Player is the very program you can use to bypass the DVD region code of a disc.

Message "wrong Region" appears in my Sony DVD -

DVD region is an anti-piracy method to block DVDs from other countrys to be played on a region where that DVD isn't available for selling. You still can watch that DVD by changing the DVD Player region code from options but be aware that you have a limited number of changes, after changes reach 0 you cannot change DVD region code anymore and your DVD player will be stucked to a certain region that you selected.

Wrong region

Change your region to multi-region so it can play discs from any region but please check the instruction manual to ensure that changing the region does not void the manufacturers warranty.

Turn the DVD player on, and press "open" on the remote control or on the machine itself.

Press this code into the remote: 789

Press OK, then press 0. A "0" should appear in the lower left side of the screen. For Phillips, zero is the code number for multi-region. In place of the zero, you can also press the number of the specific region you want to play.

Play the disc to check if it works.

WRONG REGION on the screen

Have you checked the region in your Disc Properties? Go into Disk Management, find your dvd and right click on it. Go into the properties and you will see a heading for Regions. In there it explains a bit about regions, which should be at 2. If it is not, then change it to 2. Let me know if this doesn't help.

Wrong Regional Disc.

DVDs are ecoded with region codes to indicate what area of the world they are made for. These codes may be 1,2,3, etc depending on which region they are made for.
DVD player read these codes and if the disc region code does not match the region the device is made for, the player will not play the disc.
Region 1 is for USA so most DVDp players made for use in USA require region 1 discs.
Some DVD players called multi region DVD players can be set to play different region DVDs but they are typically more expr=ensive then one region players and the code must be changed each time a different region disc is played.
