BB Pearl keyboard sounds

How can i get the clicks on the keyboard to stay "off". I set the options on 'screen/keyboard" to Off and it works for a few minutes and then ignores it and goes back to the clicks.
when i check back in the options screen, it still says off, even though it's making the clicks.

Try going to blackberry.com and downloading the newest OS for your phone. BLACKBERRY.COM

You can either try the online update method or download the desktop manager then download the updated handset software and install it using the Desktop manager software (recommended)

1.)Make sure you download desktop software (Install)
2.) Make a manual backup of your phone and its programs etc.) The installation will ask to do this so this step can be bypassed most of the time
3.) Run the device software update once you download the file you need it should ask you automatically to update the phone with the new software

You have to update the software via Blackberry Desktop Manager. Timing is key as it maynot work the first time... It may take 20-50 tries but this is the only way to get it back up. If you can indeed get it back up everything will be erased. Sorry for the bad information.

My BB pearl 8100 doesn't ring for incoming calls/messages/emails, but if i go to listen my ringtones or music they all sound fine, i think it got corrupted or something because no matter how i change the...

Not sure if the pearl interface is the same as mine, a Storm - I have an option on my main screen to fast-select ring volume (called Notification), which affects both calls and messages, and I can choose loud, soft, vibrate, silent, and also go into options for more detailed settings. You may have such an option that is easy to find, and maybe easy to set by mistake, without realising it.

Pearl manual at this location:
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/1217/userguide_bb8100_gprs.pdf
see p193, Notification Profiles.
There are other keys, eg # that affect notification sounds/vibrate. Download and search in the manual for 'Notification" to find all the places mentioned.

Even if you have a paper manual, I recommend keeping the electronic one since you can easily search for keywords and find all the places they are mentioned quickly.

My blackberry 8100 can't open

If you are having problems with your Blackberry Pearl 8100, 8110, 8120 or 8130, you might want to wipe all of the data off of it and start fresh. You may want to try resetting the device first by removing the battery from the unit for about 5 seconds and reinserting it. If that doesn’t help things, proceed with these steps to erase all data on the device.
You may want to backup your data before trying these steps.
1. On the Home screen, select Options.
2. Select Security Options.
3. Click General Settings.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Wipe Handheld.
6. Click Continue.
7. Type blackberry.
All the data on your BlackBerry Pearl will then be deleted.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

BB PEARL

you will need to contact your service provider...it is free but it will take a few days to get the code back if they have tot contact the manufacterer....but you need the 16 diget code......after you get that, go to options, advanced options, sim card, type MEPPD. scroll to sim card, type MEP and pres the ALT key and then the 2 key.

if that doesnt work, instead of typing MEP2, try pressing and holding the ATL key and type MEPPE

if this works, a window will pop up asking for the unlock code....

**note** you will need to put a 'forgien sim card' in the phone at the time that you unlock it
