You need to get your service providers' settings to be able to use the router for internet connection. If you are just using it to connect your systems for home using and you are not going to the internet, during your setup you will be require to enter an IP Address. Just enter an IP address like 196.254.100.10, subnet mask as 255.255.255.0.
if ur ethernet cable is connected to ur modem u dont got to use manual. but u got to use the modem with allot of those ethernet connections, i am using that right now for my xbox360
(You may use your ISPs DNS entries also, these are just the OpenDNS ones that should work for everyone)
6. Under the "advanced" tab, you need to check "Allow other network users
to connect through this computer's Internet connection."
7. Right-click on your wireless
connection, go to properties, click the "advanced" tab and check the
same box to allow other users to share the connection.
8. On your Xbox360 go to the network configuration menu and enter the following settings:
IP address: 192.168.100.5
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
DNS1: 208.67.222.222
DNS2: 208.67.220.220
Now you should be able to get on the internet with your Xbox as it will be using your PC/Laptop's wireless connection.
Are you connecting the Xbox via wireless?
Try changing the router wireless authentication to WPA-PSK with TKIP encryption.
XBox and PSP have problems with WEP.
Okay check the cable of the xbox make sure its not broken or KINKED could have a broken wire somewhere make sure the wire work try the wire on a computer to see if it gets an IP.
Check the connector too, make sure none of the wire are lossen up, if so then replace the connectors or buy a new wire. make sure its Cat 5 or Cat 5E. doesnt have to be cat 6. thats overkill.
if its wireless then check if your router has WEP or WAP enabled, then you have to get the Key to get into the router, and make sure the SSID of the router is correct.
I have the same router (WRT300N) and this is what I did. I don't know if it will work for more than one Xbox360.
- Go to the Setting of the router.
- Applications & Gaming
- DMZ
. Enable the DMZ
. Choice the Mac Adress under the Destination.
. If you don't know the Mac Adress of your Xbox360 click on the tab: DHCP CLIENT TABLE
.Now from there choice your Xbox360 ( the Xbox360 won't have a Client Name but hopefully you only have your Xbox360 and your computer)
and now save your setting and restart your Xbox360 and there you go NAT open. This also help if you get any kind of LAG while someone is on the computer using the internet, your Xbox360 will be high priorty to the router.
HOPE THAT HELP
