Question about Brother MFC 8300 Laser Printer
Take out drum. After that, pull out ink cartridge. Return ink cartridge into drum and reinsert.
That cleared the code on mine.
If not, call Brother Tech Support at 1-800-284-4329

From looking at the online manual, http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/FAXMACHINES/Brother%20Printers%20Intellifax-5750%2033.6%20Plain%20Paper%20Fax.pdfthis seems to indicate that there may be something stuck in the printer paper path somewhere. It mentions a paper clip... A small piece of paper, any foreign object could be caught . Another possibility is that a sensor is either defective, or, if a mechanical (like a switch) the lever which activates the switch might be either jammed, bent, broken, making the system sense an error, when actually there isn't one. You should take a very careful look inside the printer, using a good light to help look in the paper path for some abnormality. Maybe you will get lucky and find!

I have a Brother MFC-3420C for a few years. All of a sudden it gave me a message Pls Open Cover. When I open the cover it gives a message of Cover Open. I tried searching for a paper jam but could not find any. When I put the printer in maintenance mode and type in 84 I receive a message of Machine Error 50.
I could not find the any paper jam. I could not find a way to check on the bottom where the paper feeds through to see if there is any jam. But as far as I could see there is none.
