Question about X-10 HR12A Remote Control

X-10 used for pool components

I use my x-10 to control the components on my pool such as turning on/off the heater, jacuzzi, water feature, etc. I have had it for about 3 years and about 6 months ago it started only working intermittently. I have replaced the batteries twice which did nothing. What could the problem be?

I have a Jacuzzi J340 Hot Tub. I am having trouble with the heating. When the pump is on, the water circulates just fine. once the heater kicks on, it runs for about 10 seconds, then clicks to OH, and...

make sure the heating element isnt touching the casing inside the heating tube. if its an indoor tub, make sure the filtration cycles are not set to constant. constant filter cycles on an indoor tub will generate residual heat from the circ pump running 24/7, causing tub to heat past 104 degrees

Jacuzzi hot tub, Water is too hot. Heats until it trips the system. I have replaced the analog temperature control,

1) Safety question first
Why hasn't the GFCI tripped.
If your spa is not protected by ground fault., then you are at serious personal risk.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-GFCI.html#arc-fault

2) Replace the element.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-test-water-heater-element.html

3) If element is cracked, it can continue heating to ground wire, causing runaway heating.
This applies to spas, and water heaters of all type.

We have a hot tub or jacuzzi inside or on the side of our pool. We had a new heater installed. The jacuzzi should heat up very quickly but now the pool tech claims the drain from the jacuzzi is blocked,...

Is the equipment to heat and filter the hot tub separate from the pool equipment or do both bodies of water share a common heater and filter pump? In most cases they share a pump and heater with valves that direct the flow of water depending on how the pool owner wants to use the pools.

The first thing you need to determine then is if the equipment is working properly. Is there flow of water to and from the spa? If so, is the heater burner kicking on? If it is running, is it running properly with sufficient gas pressure, 3-4" tall bright blue flames and stays on continuously during the heating cycle for the spa?

What is 'very quickly' for the time to heat the water? In other words, if everything appears to be operating normally but the water is not warming fast enough or at all how much time is elapsing before deciding the heater is not working?

How old is this equipment and how much experience do you have with this pool tech or the company they are from?

I let my pool heater freeze

Once a Pool / Jacuzzi heater freezes they will haunt you again and again. You fix one leak and weeks or months later another one appears. Sometimes the only damge done is just the manifold gasket. It would be worth HANDS ON repair "estimate" to find out if it is the manifold or the heat exchanger that has failed. If the heat exchanger has failed BUY A NEW ONE.

5 year old Laars 25,000 LX won't ignite.

The low pressure indicator is for the gas pressure not the water pressure. The heater won't ignite because it's not getting gas to the igniter. Check gas supply, if okay, check gas connections, valves, etc.

The 1 HP motor should be fine on the jacuzzi.

Jacuzzi keeps going to half full of water

This is nothing to be concerned about, manually shut off the pump and watch for water leaking somewhere and fix
