I hope someone can help me. I have a Diamond 1G MP3 player and I just love it. My son got it for me at Xmas but now I need to find a newer usb driver for it. The disk I have is only for Windows 98 and I now have XP. I can't find an upgrade anywhere, it's like this unit is in the dinosaur age but it still works great. Can anyone direct me to where I might find an upgrade for it? It says diamond on the front, 1G and it's pink! Any help is tremendously appreciated!!!

Ifyou don't have any music on it yet that may be the problem - if you do try to hard boot or turn off completely for 5min or so to see if you can unscramble the device - if not take it and exchange it cause it sounds like it may be defective somehow. This is how first go to you control panel and click mouse then look if you locked your mouse to delete things if not use the right click of your mouse on the folder and delete it.
It does not require any specific drivers; it should work as a USB Mass Storage device. Simply drag and drop the music files you want onto the drive when it appears in Nautilus or on your desktop.
1. Plug your player in using usb cable.
2. Wait and a menu will pop up with several options scroll down to the option "manage with rhapsody" & click to select
3. Create a rhapsody account and note to the left of the screen rhapsody will detect your player
4. Click on your player screen says"RCA ...." your songs will be listed once you click on the words RCA
5. Highlight and delete
6. To avoid this in the future only use media player or rhapsody not both to sync songs to player
If you are using Windows 98, install the drivers. If you are using Windows XP, simply open windows media player. open the Sync tab at the top. and drag and drop on the right to your device. Hope this helps.
