I want to record my videos that I have on tape on a DVD. I have a DVD recorder on my PC but I'm not sure how to get the videos onto my PC to record them.
Check what kind of interface that your camera have, these are the possiblities: Hardware powwibilities: 1. i-link or firewire or IEEE-1394: all three are the same depending on the brand. This is the common woth DV cameras. If you have this, you have to have the same interface in your PC. You have to install an interface card. 2. USB 2.0- it has to be 2.0, ver 1.1 is slow and will not be capable of hi res transfer. If you have this, your PC should have this interface as well. 3. Analog AV- Here you have to buy a video capture card, it may be via USB or PCI slot. In any of the setup you will be needing a video authoring software. There are a lot available in the net and it is also free when you buy a video capure card or module. After you capture the video, you have to burn it in the DVD, you can use Nero.
