Re: screen out side
It's actually the magnet sensore inside the phone. This can be fixed by putting another magnet from a razor on the top left corner of the phone underneith the battery, then you will need another one to place under the faceplate right on top of the other magnet. Simply changing the magnet sometimes works but not every time.
I hope this anser helps you:
First, Press the center select key to open the menu, then scroll to SETTINGS & TOOLS
and then go to Display Settings, and press the center select key to select it, nou you should go to "Clock Format" and press the menu key.
Scroll to Front Clock (for the external display) and press the center select key

well ,that means that the ribbon cable that flexs when you open and close the screen is bad,, could be the screen tho..you need to let me know if the phone still works, does the keyboard light come on..
The flex that connects your screen to the phone board is bad and has worn out. It is commom with flip phones. All you need do is to replace the flex and be very mindful of how you close the flip phone.
no not in the moto razr.....what its sounds like is a fault between the main board and the lcd flip top........open the back panel by removing the battery back and battery and the screws. It will just pop off now. Make sure that when u put it bck together the ribbon cable from the lcd panel is firmly secured to the board. TRy it again
Does anything show on the external display if you go to take a picture, but before you acually take it, close the phone and look on the external display as if you were taking a self-portrait?
To make fully sure, while the phone is closed, press a volume button - does anything show on the display? If so, the external display functions and it would be a setting that may have been overlooked.
Go to Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > Display Timeout
Menu > Settings > Personalise > Home Screen
I'm having the same trouble, and I've found it's because the v3 no longer recognizes the opening and closing of the phone itself. You see, when you close it, something is triggered that tells the phone to shut off the main screen and change the outer screen to the usual mode where it shows the time. You can also test this by trying to take a picture and closing the phone - the external lcd no longer doubles as a second camera display to easily take pictures of yourself.
I dropped mine into the toilet, and I'm not sure if there's anything to do but take it to a tech. Sounds and looks like a hardware problem to me.
