F20530WN 08/1991 When the TV is turned on it soon starts powering off, then on, and will continue doing so until the user turns it off. I have an old JVC 35" TV (mid-1990's) that did the same thing. I was able to replace a capacitor on the circuit board, and it has been working for over a year now. Could the RCA have a similar solution?

Well, we have a FPR725ER RCA ColorTrak tv from 1987 and we had the same problem in 1997 I believe... It cost over 100 dollars to fix but it was worth it. (not positive what was wrong with it, I suggest you just talk to a tv repair shop. RCA'S of that era are WORTH spending money to repair, those RCA's will last a lifetime if your willing to spend a tiny bit) (coinicidence - I have that same tv your talking about too! the F20F30WN)

My tv, when plugged in just keeps turning itself on and off in intervals of about 3 seconds. It doesn't give time for anything to come up on the screen at all.

Problem is in standby power supply or microprocessor area---not the do it yourself repair and likely not economical to repair due to age and brand of set.

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will help in solving the problem.......

Hello,

My LOEWE CAL 232 will not power up. When the power button is pressed, the monitor turns on, with the LOEWE on the monitor, then the TV continues with the previous activity (antenna, DVD, VCR etc.). Now all that happens is

1. the red light comes on

2.after about 1 second the green light turns on for about 12 seconds

3. the the green light turns off for about 1 second

4. then the green light turns on again for about 12 seconds

and this continues until the power button is pressed to turn the TV off. During this time, the monitor does not turn on and the only sound I hear seems to eminate from the power button.

Any thoughts?

Receiver continously turns on and off

In this case, it is an important issue that what type of connection you've had between the amp and the TV (scart, s-video, rca, etc.) It seems to me that yours is an impedance issue. Refer to the user manual of the amp and check out the allowed or recommended impedance values, then buy appropriate interconnections.
