Question about Philips 42PW9982 TV
Hello, TV in question is Philips Plasma 42pw9982/19. The fault is that when the TV is turned on red light comes on. It then goes to green but when we press the remote control buttons, it goes back to red a few seconds later. I appreciate assistance is diagnosis and a possible remedy of the fault.
The most common issue i find with Plasma TV's acting like this is a failed power supply in them, usually due to leaky/failed capacitors. About your only option is to find someone with the know-how to repair it, as its almost impossible to find a replacement board. I fix more TV power supply boards then anything else these days.

Most likely the volume down button on the front of the TV or the switch that it activates is sticking. Should be an easy fix otherwise.
