Yellow Tint on Lower Right Side of Sony KDS-R60XBR1 TV Screen

My Sony KDS-R60XBR1 has a yellow tint in the lower right hand corner that seems to be growing larger. It does not matter what input or source is used the yellow tint is there. What could possibly be causing this problem?

Sony tv kds-r60xbr1 has yellow tint

Sorry to hear this, but your optical block has failed. Sony replaced a ton of these under warranty and then extended the warranty on these SXRD sets so they could replace many more. They even replaced the sets with LCD sets after a class action law suite. This was a "black eye" for Sony TVs and they stopped making the SXRD sets. Your set is vintage 2006 and there is no longer a warranty. You could replace the optical block with a rebuilt one, but the cost would be about the same as getting a new 60" LCD. I would suggest you do the latter.

Yellow tint on screen

You have a defect in the optical engine ***'y. It's not worth the cost of a $1000 or so repair usually. So sorry.

We have a yellow tint in the picture, it is worse

Yes, It could be either your video board or your dmd board, go to the service menu and if the yellow tint is still there, it's your dmd board, if not it will be your video board

Yellow tint

I had the same problem (although I have the 50 inch version of the TV). It wasn't the bulb. The optical block had to be replaced.

KDS-R50XBR1 has a yellow hue in the lower right hand corner of the screem

Hi JimmyDeps

If there is a yellow hue I would guess that this a LCD TV right ?

Which means that the blue LCD has gone and will have to be replaced.

Screen discoloratiom area

It's definitely your VCR that is causing the problem. Move your VCR, if you don't get any results you need to send it to repair.

Yellow spots

I have no suggestions but I am having the exact problem, yellow haze in the top right corner of the screen with a yellow line running down to the bottom of the screen. I guess we need to call tech support.
