Receiving error message on display screen of mp500 code "6A00"

Does anyone else have this problem? I can't find anything in the guide on this particular error message. Nor can I get through to Cannon's tech support hotline. Printer no longer will print anything, and it's also giving me the "orange" flashing Alarm light??? Help!

Hi
I think it the same code
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

I have a PIXMA MP500 printer. It is showing an error code 6A00. Can't find any reference to this in the User's Guide. What does it mean; what should I do?

Try first unplugging the printer power cord for ten minutes, ansd see if this correct the error, if not we will proceed troubleshooting.

Canon pixma all in one mp500 error code 6A00

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.

Canon MP500 Error code 6A00... what is this about?

Error 6A00 is AP position error.First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output)
is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer. If this not help your printer need service.

Error 6A00

I just had the same problem :( I dont have a true fix, but I slid out the cartridge to the left and back in. I read it had to do with a timing mark somewhere. When I powered it back up. It went back to normal
