Wont power on

I have had the dvd player for only a few months, and suddenly it will not even power on. I have tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a day and then plugging it back in, and it still won't power on. Any suggestions??

Hi all

I had a similar problem with Coby dvd 7500 the screen was faint almost black but could hear the movie sound. I cleaned the lens as suggested but it didnt resolve the problem.

I tired to rest the player by removing the power supply cord and the battery for 30 mins as suggested in the manual but that also didnt work. What I did was leave the player without battery and the power cord overnight and it did start working in the morning!!

This worked for me and hope works for you guys too...

All the best.

Cheers

Did you have a power surge or anything that could short it out. can you use a multimeter, can you test the unit your self. if so test the voltage through the power board. and through the fuse it might have blown. its all on the board that the plug in goes to when you open the case if its that new dlont do this take it back you will void the warrenty if you tamper with it.

Advent DVD player won't turn off

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your Advent DVD player not turning off properly. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the remote control: Make sure the remote control is not accidentally turning on the DVD player. Try removing the batteries from the remote and test the power button on the DVD player again.
  2. Check the power cord: Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the DVD player and the wall outlet. Also, check that the outlet is working properly by plugging in another device to see if it powers on.
  3. Unplug the DVD player: Try unplugging the DVD player from the wall outlet for a few minutes, then plug it back in and test the power button again.
  4. Try a soft reset: If the above steps don't work, you can try performing a soft reset on the DVD player. To do this, unplug the DVD player from the wall outlet, wait a minute, and then plug it back in. Press and hold the power button on the DVD player for about 10 seconds, then release it. The DVD player should turn off.
  5. Check for a hardware issue: If none of the above solutions work, the issue could be caused by a hardware problem with the DVD player. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a repair professional to have the DVD player serviced.
It's possible that one of the above solutions will resolve the issue, but if not, it's best to consult the DVD player's manual or contact the manufacturer

My LG blu ray 3-D dvd player just stopped working. all it says is boot. I unpluged it but still just says boot. It was working fine. Now it wont turn on at all just says boot, its said boot for the pa

My LG 670 also said 'boot' after a upgrade attempt and appeared stuck there. I searched LG support for a factory reset option, which is: Disconnect the LG power cable from the wall / power stripHold down the power button the front of the player for 30 secondsRe-insert the power cordTurn the player back on. Note: my player showed 'boot' again for a few minutes, then shut off. When I turned it on again, it went through the normal power up cycle, then shut itself off (weird). I turned it on again. So far, so good.

Portable Accurian DVD player

This may sound overly simple but try disconnecting the power from the unit (i.e. unplug it from the wall), wait a few minutes and plug it back in, kinda like a hard re-boot.
