Question about Brother IntelliFax-2820 Laser Fax

Warming up message

Machine stops with "warming up" message and will not send or receive. Any solution. "warming up" is not in the glossary. The machine is definitely warm since it is left on all the time.

In my chat box the messages i send to my friends they don't receive it but when i send them same messages through messages they receive it

Chances are the friend to whom you are sending might be accessing Facebook via mobile. Mobile Facebook does not provide chat notifications appropriately and it depends on the device too. When you send message or chat, both are now equal in Facebook. Recent Facebook version, what it does is, it combines chat and message into message section. Whatever you chat is sent as message to the person,if that person is offline or not responding to chat. If at the time of receiving message, you are online, then you receive it in chat window. At the same time, you might see notification in Message area.

Eventhough it is to an extent confusing, either way,you can reply/chat and you get all messages. In short, your message never gets lost. It gets to your friend. If he/she cannot see it in Chat, they can definitely see it in Messages section.

Cannot understand provided instructions.

Hi,
First of all, I have never met anyone who could understand the instructions the first time through. So welcome to the club. I am going to give you some tips you can follow so that you can go through the instructions while staying awake. If you follow them, you will end up knowing more than most people and some "experts".
Here goes. First of all. NEVER consider that you are stupid and cannot understand instructions. That is NOT true. I'll prove it to you. First, you are looking at this article I'm writing to you, on a computer that you know how to use. When I was young people who used computers, that I saw on the TV wore lab coats and were called scientists. No civilians were ever allowed to come near a computer. A computer then, took up the whole floor of an office building and had about 1/1000th the power of an Iphone. Times have changed. A Receiver is relatively simple. Now, I don't know who makes the receiver you have, and for now, that is not important. Here's what you do. Start at the beginning of the manual and DON'T SKIP ANYTHING. Read the materials study the diagrams and as soon as you come to a word or symbol or term you don't understand STOP and look it up and make sure you fully understand it. If there are words in the definitions you don't understand, look them up. .If you get to the bottom of a page and don't remember everything you studied, there will be a word or symbol that you didn't fully define. In fact, if you follow this advise you will not become tired. Find Glossaries online for audio and video. There are many of them.
Note: Look for the simpler Glossaries because you will not have to look up as many words and waste time.
Here are some links to Audio Glossaries
Here is one
http://www.audioc.com/library1/glossary.htm
and another
http://www.axiomaudio.com/avglossary.html
and another
http://diyaudiocorner.tripod.com/def.htm

After doing this for a short time, you will realize that you really DO understand the subject. You'll get your receiver up and running and the result will be impressive.
Many manuals are written in such a way as to make studying painful. And each fact is considered equal to other facts in terms of importance. That is not the case in life. Some of what you read in the manual will be important to you. And other things will have nothing to do with you. DON'T make this a SERIOUS MISERABLE EXERCISE. It is for listening to music, watching movies and for enjoyment. So Enjoy the activity.
Your system will come together faster than you think and your ability to use your own receiver and entertainment system will amaze you. After this, instructions will be a breeze.
Another tip when studying is to be well rested and fed.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Mark

How do i change outgoing answer phone message

Solution for Fax1360, if this does not work please let me know as this process should be the same.

Recording an outgoing message (OGM) on an external TAD 7

Timing is important in recording this message. The message sets up the ways to handle both manual and automatic fax reception.

a Record 5 seconds of silence at the beginning of your message. (This allows your machine time to listen for the fax CNG tones of automatic transmissions before they stop.)

b Limit your speaking to 20 seconds.

c End your 20-second message by giving your Fax Receive Code for people sending manual faxes. For example: 'After the beep, leave a message or send a fax by pressing *5 1 and Start.'

Recommendation: recommend beginning your OGM with an initial 5-second silence because the machine cannot hear fax tones over a resonant or loud voice. You may try omitting this pause, but if your machine has trouble receiving, then you must rerecord the OGM to include it.

Sending Faxes

When the last page of your document has been sent successfully, the machine beeps and returns to Standby mode. When something goes wrong while sending your fax, an error message appears on the display. If you receive an error message, press Stop/Clear to clear the message and try to send the document again. You can set your machine to print a confirmation report automatically each time sending a fax is completed. If you get the error message write it down it should always supply an error message if the fax did not go through.
