Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P31 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera error I have had my cybershot for several years now. Last night it was working fine and then it just started flashing an error message on screen and would do nothing. the error number is E:92.00 When I tried to turn the camera off it immediately came back on with the same error. I removed the batteries and still it came right back on with the same error. I am not even pushing the button to turn it on. Any ideas as to what it can be and how to fix it?

I have dropped camera once, since after while clicking pictures at night in absolute dark, several round white small circles or spots are appearing on the image. But in full light area and in daylight...

Are these flash pictures? Are the spots in different places on each picture? If the answer to both questions is yes, the spots are dust particles in the air reflecting the flash back into the lens.

Flashing E91:01 on screen

Hi!
Try initializing the camera. Error 91 is a flash error in Sony cameras. It is probably a dead flash fuse on the motherboard (most common problem) or a faulty flash board. If you have a multimeter, I can help you locate and test the fuse and if you have a soldering iron - even fix it. My e-mail is [email protected] Otherwise, you should contact your local Sony service center or other local camera service center.

Hope this helps!

Dropped my Cybershot DSC-T200 & now it doesn't work

Hi Emmygrace,

Dropping it can cause a several problems inside the camera from mechanical to electrical. To try and troubleshoot that yourself can be very difficult.
There are certain issues that you can fix by "banging it" but they are a last resort and ONLY if you are ready to trash the camera.

I'm sorry, it's probably not what you want to hear, but you really ought to take it to an authorized repair shop.

Digital rebel battery drain with flash only

I would suspect the batteries

Ive got an eos Rebel think its just over 4 years old
for the last year its been used every weekend for several hours 300+ pics per weekend between 2 nights I found that recently where one battery would last a night the battery was running out midway through & also taking longer to charge afterwards

2 after market replacements cost me about £10 and things are back to normal

5 years is a pretty good lifespan for a battery so its probably just getting old

Pentax IqZoom 700 film camera E9 error shutter failure Hi, I have a pentax iqzoom 700 that I'd like to repair myself but E9 appears on the lcd screen after inserting a new battery and powering on. Other posts mention this is a shutter failure. When turning on, the zoom lens extends and the outer shutter covering the outside of the lens opens. I've read tutorials that say you can sometimes fix a shutter error by causing a power outage during a shot and opening the battery door while taking a picture, but this isn't possible in my case because no shot is fired when the shutter is pressed, likely because the camera recognizes the shutter failure. I've also watched videos on how to repair leaf shutters and mechanical shutters, but the manual for this camera states the shutter is an AE between-the-lens shutter so I have no idea how to disassemble and fix this sort of thing. Looking thru the lens both thru the front of the camera and in the film compartment on the other side show a dark covering behind the lens even while the outer shutter is open covering the outer lens, which I'm assuming is the between-the-lens shutter. Ideally, I'd like to repair this myself, as there's nothing lost if I screw up and it's not worth it otherwise to take it for repair. I'm a complete novice with absolutely no prior knowledge of taking apart things, but I can follow directions so any suggestions or links to videos/tutorials would be very much appreciated Side note that I've searched the web extensively and have yet to find anything specific to repairing this camera model, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to adapt a tutorial for a different camera to this model Thanks in advance!
