Question about LG DE9523P DVD Player

1 Answer

Check disc LG CD/DVD Receiver DA 3530. Recently stopped playing DVDs. The motor spins then stops and displays 'Check disc'. However it happily plays CDs. I have opened the cover and observed the motor spinning on both CD and when it tries to play the DVD. I can see the laser when the disk is loaded. It spins much faster for the DVD than for a CD. It suddenly stops and displays Check disc.. Any suggestions?

You can only play CDs of all kinds (CD +/- R, cdrw, etc.) but you will not be able to play any DVDs. It will not detect any DVD disc.

My Sony DVD/VCR combo will play cds but not dvds. I took the top of the player off and I can see that the dvd spins but it won't play. It used to play everything very well but just stopped working...

Please clean laser lens with good quality cotton bud gently and check dvd disc playback, if still does not play, replace optical lens block.
Let me know model number of your Sony DVD-VCR combo to provide you optical laser block part number info.
Thanks.

Disc Error when I try to play a dvd LG DP781

Hi,

Sounds like either a dirty or weak laser/lens. Pls try cleaning with a CD disc cleaner or manually using cotton buds (if the eye is accessible).

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

With the player on, hooked properly to your television, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds
The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to play your dvd's now.

DVDs & CDs will not play

If you are playing STANDARD CD or regular DVD that you have purchase and you are having this problem, your dvd player is malfunction;however,if you are playing DVD burner disc or a different dvd region disc(we are region 1 in U.S.) that is no going to work.Same thing for your CD burner disc,it might not work.
If you are using a rental dvd disc, check and see if there is scratches? If so,try to get one without that many scratches!
