NO SOUND FROM TV FOR DTS FORMATS

I have a Pioneer DVD player Model dv 366 s which was purchased in year 2003. It is a plays 5.1 / DTS cd. I have connected it to my Denon amplifier Model 1604. and have hooked to my 29" Sony TV. I do have a HT system, comprising of 2 front, 2 rear, 1 centre and a subwoofer. When I play a DTS dvd disc, the sound comes only from the connceted speakers and not from the TV set. Is there any specific reasone for this. I have tried several DTS dvds, but all respond in the same manner i.e. no sound from the TV. Pleas let me know if there is any technical reason for the same.

Regards

SOURCE: No DTS sound / RESET

Hi I have a Pioneer VSX D908S which is basically the same amplifier as yours with the difference that the one I have has no THX certification, as a matter of fact the service manual is the same, and mine has the same problem. The prblem is located in the DSP board, if you are able to remove the bonett, you will see on the right side a metal cover, remove it, once you have removed it, look for a IC9374 it is located, -looking this board in front to you- almost at the left upper corner, this IC has the PDK042A on it, with a soldering iron resolder this circuit. This is common problem with this pioneer amplifiers, and this procedure not always works, the final solution is to buy the DSP board but it is expensive. Good luck! Miguel

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-505S Subwoofer Installation

That type of subwoofer is not used with this receiver. This receiver actually outputs no power for a subwoofer, therefore only needs a plain ol' rca signal wire. This is due to the fact that you need a powered sub... one that you plug in to the wall and it has its own built in amp. you simply run an rca from yyour 505s to that sub.

SOURCE: When i play music cd

What is happening is the the pioneer is set up so that you can choose how you listen to your DVDs. So first you must see how your DVD is connected via the audio. I am fairly sure that the Default on the Pioneer is to play it through the standard stereo if all you have plugged in is the left and right audio plugs. If you buy an optical cable or a plug in the Digital Coax out put to the pioneer receiver, then the pioneer will decode the sound and out put true surround sound. Some DVD players don't have a digital out put, but these are the cheapest ones out there. If yours doesn't have a digital out put, then you need to get one that does. They can be purchased for as little as 39.00.

Okay lets assume you bought a DVD player with Digital out put for audio and you have it connected to the receiver. Now, you have to change the mode on your pioneer to let it know that your audio is coming in DIgital when you select the DVD. (Though this may already be the case and you won't have to do anything once you connect it.)

I accidentally pressed progressive scan on my DV 366 player and my TV screen went blank. I can listen to music now by there is no picture on the TV screen. How do I correct it?

You will have to press the progressive scan button again, but most of the time you will have to remove any discs that are in the unit first, before you press the buton again

Noise coming out of speakers connected to Denon AVR 1908

Check for nearby wireless devices and move them away. -If the audio output from the source device (i.e. DVD, CD player) is digital (i.e. PCM, DTS or Dolby Digital) you're on your own. I'd be willing to bet the output is analog (red and white RCA), because the "beeps" and "exploding sounds" you describe seem like it could be caused by interference. Try replacing the cables. Otherwise the issue is probably with your receiver.

Download and burn on CD with nero, make sure the CD is being closed after burning.
The just mount the CD in your DVD player and press play.
#1. Press upgrade.
#2. Wait,don´t touch anything now.
#3. The tray will open after about 5-10 sec, take out CD.
#4. Player will uppgrade under about 1-2 minut, then the tray will close by it self, and the player says "CLEAR".
#5. And now here is the secret. When player says "CLEAR" ,push and HOLD the "enter button on THE PLAYER until it turns off(about 5 sec).
And there you go,standing infront of your brand new Multi regional Pioneer DV-310.

How to use the usb port on Pioneer DV-410V DVD Player

Dear friends in problem solving.
My husband actually solved this problem by writing in the browser: Manual for Pioneer DV-410V DVD player.
That was available online and there it said that not all formats was supported by the USB port, so we tried to load a movie on a pen drive, insert it in the player and it opened and we just clicked play, so it was actually an issue of having an incompatible video file on the pen drive that made it not open in the first place.
