Treo 600 The touch screen on my phone doesn't work. I can use the arrows to move around my phone but can't use the touch screen with my stylus. I tried a hard reset and the touch screen feature worked for one phone call and now doesn't work again.

That means your touchscreen is no-good at all. I had the same problem. Had to get a rebuilt 600 from Sprint (thank god for the insurance plan).

Go to applications - preferences - touchscreen. Follow the instructions to calibrate your touchscreen. If it does not work, reset your phone by pressing the small button at the small hole at the back of the phone with a safety pin.

Use button and go to tap - settings from menu, then tap your screen. Stylus will work.

Try running a piece of paper around the edge of the screen. There may be was something stuck in there, pressing the screen slightly and causing it to not respond to the stylus4.gif.

Touchscreen does not respond to touch
This is straight from Palm Support...
1.Press and hold the UP button on the front panel of your device.

2.While holding the UP button, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus, to gently press the RESET button inside the hole on the back of your device


3.The Palm Computing Platform screen will appear. Release the UP button when you see it.

Setup
I tried everything, even heating my Palm as described here.
The only thing that really worked for me was pressing the "up" button while pressing the "Reset" button (hard reset). Luckily, I had all of my files backed up. The hard reset truly worked. Good luck to all!

Palm treo reset
You want to perform what is called a "Hard Reset"

It's pretty easy. You hold the power button while you push the reset button on the back. The treo will ask you if you want to erase all the data.

  • Unscrew the tip from your stylus
  • Locate the "RESET" hole on the back of your Treo 600
  • Press and hold the power button on the top of your Treo and then press the reset button with the stylus pin
  • Remove the pin from the reset hole FIRST, hold both for a few seconds, and then release the power button.
  • The screen will say "erase all data?", tap the up arrow to answer yes

    Touch screen
    You may have dust accumulation around the edges of your touchscreen, between the screen and the case. Try using a can of compressed air. Gently press down on the edges of the touchscreen to expose the gap between the screen and the case, and shoot the air in there. This worked for me when my Treo 600 touchscreen stopped responding.

    How do I purge contacts from the Treo 600?
    Best would be to perform a hard reset. This will delete all your contacts, but also all your other data on your phone as well such as mail, sms, call log, settings etc.

  • Unscrew the tip from your stylus
