My nokia touch pad click is not working. how do i fix it?

SOURCE: how to set up mouse pad so it works with touch

Check in the control panel under mouse. There should be a setting to enable tapping. If there is a touch pad icon on the bottom right of the screen you can also right click on that and select options.

Your laptop comes with a touch pad that acts as a mouse. Instead of connecting a mouse each time you want to use your laptop, you can use the touch pad that is integrated underneath the keyboard. This comes in handy when you are in a tight spot such as in a classroom or on an airplane. At times, you may need to unlock the laptop touch pad because someone who borrowed your laptop disabled it. It may also be locked due to a slight malfunction that you can easily fix by enabling the touch pad in your computer settings.
Click the Windows "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click "Control Panel." Choose the "Mouse" icon or type "Mouse" in the field in the upper-right corner. Click the "Enter" button and then click the "Mouse" link. Press the "Hardware" tab or the tab to the right of it that specifies the type of touch pad you have. If you are under the "Hardware" tab, highlight the touch pad in the list of devices and click the "Enable" button. If you are under the touch pad tab, click the enable button. Click the "Apply" button and then click the "OK" button. Hope this helps.

1. Go to control panel
2. open mouse options
3. click the device settings tab and you should see your touch pad as one of the devices.
4. Make sure your touch pad is highlighted and click the settings button
5. one of the options is tapping, and you can enable it here

That should get your mouse to click on touch pad taps.

I have a dell vostro A860 laptop.not working to Touchpad. How to Fix Touchpad Not Working in Laptop
What you can initially do is to update the driver.
  1. Press on the windows key + R. A run box will appear.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc then click on ok. The device manage will appear.

  1. Click on the plus sign besides mice and other pointing devices.
  2. Right click on the item that will be pertaining to your touch pad.
  3. Choose update driver and let the internet work for you.
If this does not work, you will need to totally reinstall the driver.
  1. On the same screen (device manager) right click on the touch pad driver again, the choose uninstall.
  2. follow the prompts for uninstallation. You might wanna uninstall any mouse related drivers as well (these application can also cause conflicts thus causing your touch pad not to work)
  3. download the touch pad driver available from the link I provided below.
  4. follow the prompts for installation.
  5. restart

It this does not work, you will need to call Dell Technical Support to have the laptop serviced. That is if the portable still has warranty. If not, then you will need to buy a USB mouse as a replacement.

I have a vostro 1700 and the touchpad stopped working. I can move the curser and click on the buttons, but tapping on the actual pad does not work. I also use a wireless mouse. Please answer in terms that...
that is a bummer for to fix it you have to order the whole top cover and replace it. for some reason the touch pad is broken from under neath and will now not work. I have had to place some of them. to fix it tempery take off the key board and unplug the touch pad and us a reg mouse.

Gateway notebook touchpad
Thank you mewms_14904. The problem was the F key. In my case it was F7 that enables and disables the glide pad of my notebook.By pressing fn key and then F7 solved my case.
