I've had the same problem since I plugged mine in! I didn't even get to use it ONCE!!! The store won't let me take it back because it was purchased more than 30 days before I returned it, but it was a Christmas present my grandparents bought before Thanksgiving. Now I'm stuck with it and I still can't cook.

I purchased this a GRP99 for Mothers Day 2006 and have had the same thing happen - err, beeps & does not work. Surely there has to be some kind of easy fix to get it working again. The unit has never been abused, dropped or immersed in water - the hot plates come off ...which is the best feature & the reason I purchased it. Therefore, reading the others comments it appears I'll have to trash it. For the money I spent to purchase it, I may as well just go out and buy a new bbq

Same problem, but I used it once and it was fine, then it sat for a while before I decided to use it again and then I got the CL Err. Now it's past the 1 year. There's got to be someone out there who knows how to fix this. I'm ready to take it apart myself, but would love some guidance. What do they do at the factory if it's less than a year? Someone must know.

OK, I've been seaching on and off on the web for a solution for the CL err problem with no luck for the past couple of years, hanging on to my grill in hopes that I will find something. Here's the disclaimer before I go any further: I am not an expert in this area and I have no idea what the part does that I will soon describe. I'm simply going to post what I did to my grill that has solved the CL err problem for me. I tried to call customer service and got nothing. Last night I decided to take it apart to see if I could figure anything out. I started with the top and got nowhere so I put it back together. Then I turned it back on again, but this time without the grilling plates on, and left it open. I had it going for a long time with no problem. Then I tried it closed for a while, no problem. Next I put the top grill plate on with no problems. Then I put the bottom plate on, and here came the CL err. I noticed that there was some little button on the lower half that is depressed when the lower plate is attached, so I got suspicious and put the lower grill plate on, but half way down so it was haning off the front and not touching the button. I turned it on and had no problems. I decided that something was wrong with that button. I took apart the bottom which was 4 screws, and the part that covers the cord assembly, another 7 screws. The cords still hold it part way together, but by having it in the open position and laying the grill on it's top with the bottom standing up, I was able to rest the separated bottom pieces in a position that allowed me acces to the button assembly. There were 2 screws holding the button assembly. I unscrewed them so that pressure from the grill plate would just push the whole assembly down, and not depress the button. So at this point, the button is kind of floating inside and is not solid in place. I put it back together to see what would happen and bingo, no more CL err and it's working perfectly. Now remember, I don't know what that button is for, but it looks like some kind of safety device to me that malfunctioned, but I could be wrong. You can try this at your own risk if you want, but it worked for me, and now my Fathers Day present is working again!

The same thing is happening to my model and I called the 18009373883 and there is only a one year warranty on it, so if a year has passed your out of luck. If you have a valid receipt then they will give you directions on how to send it in for repairs. Sorry.

Fluke 87V Continuity test; Sometimes a solid beep. Other time a continual rapid on/off beep?

Open the manual. Press CTRL+F and type 'beeps' and press enter. There are 19 mentions.

https://www.transcat.com/media/pdf/80vUserManual.pdf

The continuity test features a beeper that sounds as long as a circuit is complete. The beeper allows you to perform quick continuity tests without having to watch the display. To test for continuity, set up the Meter as shown in Figure 4. Press E to turn the continuity beeper on or off. The continuity function detects intermittent opens and shorts lasting as little as 1ms. A brief short causes the Meter to emit a short beep.

Was there a Diode in the circuit?

A short beep sounds if the diode is good (< 0.85 V). A continuous beep sounds if the reading is ? 0.100 V. This reading would indicate a short circuit. The display shows "OL" if the diode is open.

and also

Enter MIN MAX recording mode. The Meter is locked in the range displayed before you entered MIN MAX mode. (Select the desired measurement function and range before entering MIN MAX.) The Meter beeps each time a new minimum or maximum value is recorded

I wasn't keen on the 48hr period so I tried a work around. I disconnected the front display which reset the alarm in question. To disconnect the display you have to disconnect the wires that supply this power. This is located underneath the top plastic hinge cover for the freezer. Remove the cover

My unit keeps chirping every 30 seconds even after replacing the batteries. The unit is over 5 years old.

The manufacturer has written this in their manual for your unit...

"Err" displayed -battery icon may show any state of battery capacity. One quick beep every 30 seconds. Unit is Error condition

Replace batteries. If "Err" (or blank display) continues, unit has malfunctioned. Replace immediately.

I've misplaced the operating instructions for my williams sonoma remote meat thermometer. I can't get the probe unit/base to sync with the remote transmitter or to show a temp on the base unit and find a...

This is for a model ET-903WS: Turn the base unit on first. This is the unit with the larger display & buttons. Hold the power/mode button (upper left) down until you hear 3 beeps and the display lights up. Mine then displays "BEEF" and shows 160, with 3 blinking spaces. Next, plug the probe into the smaller remote unit. You should get 1 beep, the remote will display the temperature and the base will now display the same temp where the blinking spaces were. The first couple of times I tried, the base would not display. Unplug the probe, turn the base off holding down the same power/mode button and start over. I've had to do this as many as 4 times but it has worked perfectly while I wrote this!?! I really like this thermometer because I can put the meat on the grill go inside and have a drink while watching the game and then a friendly voice comes on when the internal temp is within 10 degrees of your target and says: Your food is almost done...your food is almost done." If you sleep through that, she comes back on at temp and says "Your food I'd done...your food is done". I take most meat off at the first warning and wrap it in foil. Watch the probe and it will continue to rise for about 20 mins. Enjoy.

Model #KN-COPP-3.."Err" along w/occasional beeping. Tried to reset, but it continues to beeps. Other CO alarms in house show zero.

1) Does the display show "Err"? 2) When you press and hold the Peak Level button does the display change to "E09"? If so, then you have just been "had" by the grossly under-documented "planned obsolescence feature" called, rather matter-of-factly, "End of Life". This means that ~7 years after first being powered up, the unit will, BY DESIGN, cease to function, forcing you to buy a replacement. Would have been nice of them to include THAT warning on the OUTSIDE of the package. Call their "Hotline" at 1-800-880-6788 and tell them what you think of that policy.

The refrigerator and freezer are not getting cold but I can hear the motor running.

Hello there:
If the compressor is running and you can hear it than you are going to have the refrigerant recharged in the unit.
If you continue to run the unit without refrigerant you will end up with the compressor quitting and this you do not want ok?
I hope this has been very helpful for you ok?

My GE AC starts to beep when I only turn it on for a while

Probably a bad sensor. Remove the sensor and clean it good or replace it. Todays newer stuff relies on a sensor to tell the beard what the conditins are in the house. The board sends a small dc voltage through the sensor and measures the sensor. Changes in temperature cause the voltage to fluctuate and this tells the brain when to shut down the machine. Long story short the sensor thinks the house is cool enough. Less than 5 bucks a sensor is easy to change out. It has a quick connect, check it for corrosion, with any luck all you need to do is clean it up.
