Cannot connect printer

Hi,

I'm trying to install a Kodak ESP 5 aio. I've installed the software CD and uninstalled it a hundred times now and still nothing. When the installation software prompts me to connect the printer to the USB port, it will not recognize that the printer IS connected. I'm lost! Please help.

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

From the Kodak website:
For error codes 101-3011 or greater, follow the instructions provided in the message text box. If the error persists:
  1. Uninstall any All-in-One Printer Software installed on your computer:
    Select Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > KODAK AiO Home Center Software.
  2. Select Change/Remove.
  3. Restart your computer, then log in as administrator.
  4. Close any programs that are open, including those that appear on your computer taskbar.
  5. Confirm that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    NOTE: If your connection to the Internet is wireless, verify that the signal strength is sufficient.
  6. Install the latest version of all-in-one printer software.
    1. Locate and select the software for your operating system.
    2. Follow the instructions to install the software.
      NOTE: If you don't have access to the Internet, install all-in-one printer software from the CD that was supplied with your printer.

Although your error message is different, the above is basically a good piece of advice. Do a clean reboot, and uninstall anything to do with the Kodak printer.

Am I correct in thinking Kodak ESP 3 AIO is not compatible with Windows 7 XP x64? I can print and copy but cannot scan either directly from the button on the printer button or via Kodak Home Center

Hello my name is Amy and i recently had to do a complete system recover to my pc, Well when i went to reinstall my Kodak ESP.3 All-in-One Printer it loads the bojour and when it starts to install the Kodak...

Before you try re-installing it again, restart your computer. Sometimes installed programs require restart even if they don't force it on the user.
After restart try installing the software again, if it fails with the same error then your installer may be corrupt or not suitable for your OS. Go to the Kodak website and download the latest software and drivers for your printer. Here is the link. You will have to click on the right side on Downloads to select your OS and then search for ESP 5 will show up the results.
If you get the same error, check to see if you have the latest Service Pack installed (do a System Update for MAC). Update your computer and try again. By this time you have everything up to date and if it still won't work I'd say that there must be something corrupt into your OS.

Make sure that the printer is connected to your computer and you have the home center software installed on your system. Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads on your computer. then open the kodak home center software and click on scan pictures. Adjust the settings and you are ready to go. download the user manual from www.kodak.com/go/manuals.

KODAK AiO Home Center has encountered a problem

you need to uninstall the software and reinstall it, if you have not tried that. For XP Start-->control panel-->add/remove programme-->look for Kodak Printer software and uninstall it. For Vista Start-->control panel-->programmes and features and uninstall the software. Run the Kodak clear utility from http://unexpectedtwist4u.com/matthew and click on clear utility and you can either run it or save it first and then run it. Make sure to unplug the USB cable after uninstalling the software and reinstall the software from www.kodak.com/go/esp3downloads. Kodak phone support is open from 9 am to 12 midnight EST. Hope that works:)
