I love this camera to death and there is a silver moon looking thing on my LCD screen. It's not on the pictures when I upload them on my computer but it is aggravating trying to show a friend a picture and you have a "black hole" in your screen. So please if anyone can help out and tell me if I need to buy a replacement screen or if I can just do something on my own in my own house simple and quick. Or if the camera is kinda just screwed and is going to have to stay that way and I need to buy another one. Thank you so much for reading and hopefully thank you for answering! (: Have a wonderful day :D

SOURCE: Canon Powershot has black LCD screen
Dear All,
I solved my problem for Canon Ixus 750, i gently tap 3-4 times the camera in my sofa. I think the shuter was stack! Was stupid i know but is works perfect now!
SOURCE: Lens won't close.
I just found the culprit causing my camera to do the same. Under the battery door there is a post that hits a switch. That switch needs to be activated when the door is closed in order for it to work. Safety feature to allow someone not to put in a SD card while camera is on.
SOURCE: Camera's screen is black, but still takes pictures.
Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, try pressing the DISP button once with the camera turned on.
SOURCE: Canon PowerShot SD870 IS camera - Lens Does Not Fully Retract
Canon SD870 IS. Lense Error. Would not retract on power-down. Lense error reported when retracting zoom.
Noticed the rectangular frame about the lens was rotated off center. Manually rotated (squared-up) the lens rectangle while repeatedly powering the camera on and off. Modulating the power allowed for easier rotation of the rectangular lens frame.
Once the lens frame was square with the body of the camera, the lens completely retracted on power-down, and also zoomed in/out without error.
Problem with firmware [software} ,Please update .
