Question about Sceptre X20g-Naga III 20.1" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Sceptre monitor will not return from idle.

I have a Sceptre X20g-Naga III 20.1" LCD Monitor and a Radeon x800 AGP graphics card but the monitor will not return from idle or come back on after I turn it off. The only way to get the DVI working is to restart the computer. I've purchased multiple DVI cables and reinstalled the drivers countless times. I've tried the Catalyst Control Center and just the display drivers but nothing fixes it. I've even reformatted but I am still unable to turn my monitor off and then back on or let it go idle. This problem seems to only occur with Sceptre monitors and ATI cards occasionally and I've noticed some people have solved it in various ways through driver issues but for some reason it has not worked for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Sean

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, IT DOES NOT COME ON AND I HAVE UNPLUGGED IT AND THE STAME RESULTS

I have an nVidia 7600GT and have the same problem. If I make sure that the power never turns off the monitor it will work all day, If I re-boot, I have to turn it on and off several times until it stays on. I've had it on for as much as 14 hours with no problems. Someone posted a fix, but it's not a fix at all, it's BS! Sceptre says it's the backlight Driver board. They charge a Flat Rate $75 to refurbish it. Since they are close to where I live, I may well do that since I can't buy as I can't buy a new one that cheap.

The only workaround was to not use the DVI cable but to use the old VGA cable. You still get the same resolution.
I have a different ATI board, so I'm thinking it's an ATI+Sceptre on DVI input bug. Anyway, use the VGA cable, it'll work.

Why does the Little Green Light on the front of my Monitor just Blink and the Monitor will not come on ?

The monitor is not getting any "signal" from the video-card.
Check that the video-cable is connected to both the monitor and to the video-card.

Try connecting the monitor to a different desktop/laptop,
to see if the monitor works "elsewhere".

Try connecting a different monitor to your desktop, to see if the video-card is the problem.

I have a 20 sceptre widescreen lcd monitor

Have you tried any other monitor connected to your computer since your current problem? Check your connections, make sure your VGA cable/DVI cable are in good condition. If none of that works try to RMA it to sceptre if your still within the 1 year period.

Sceptre X20G Naga III showing horizontal and vertical lines

Hi...there,

Yeah, there it... It's called a AD board. It that piece of component were you plugged your VGA or DVI cables to it. Panel scratchs repair kits, not recommended. Beside your panel could be already damaged by this problems you had. Replacing the AD board gonna cost you though...any where from $70.00 or more... My recommendation, just get a new one...saved you the headached and $$$.
Have a nice day!
