It sounds like the filkter may be plugged up or frozen. check the outlet of the filter to see if the water is going thru. Good Luck and have a Happy New Year.

That depends if the ice maker continues to fill with water or just sits there with the ice slots empty. Sometimes it is the dual water control valve=> 4318046 Water Control Valve and sometimes the ice maker itself. Does not hurt to have an extra part of each if you are a ice user like myself. If ice slots are empty fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If the ice drops and slots do not refill with water then replace the dual water control valve. 4317943 Ice Maker Assembly.
I would suggest replaceing the water valve , behind the refrig , where the wall water line connects to , on the refrig , AND remove the front kick plate , and clean the coils on the bottom , of dust , lint pet hair , etc . If your ice maker cycles , at least 8 cubes at a time , should dump . If only 4 , then not enough water is going into the ice maker .
The refrig has 2 coils on 1 valve . 1 coil is for water dispensor and the other is for the ice maker . You need to replace the water valve behind the refrig . This is the piece that the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

some models of this refrig have a lcok out feature on the dispenser look for a padlock symbol on the dispenser console and make sure its unlocked. if it s not locked out you may have a broken switch bracket behind the console cover. when you press the levers listen very closely and you should hear a click noise letting you know the dispenser switch has activated. Ice maker is fixed. We unpluged the frig for about 10 minutes and it is now working. Someone else was given this as a solution from FixYa and it worked for me. Thanks
PULL THE TUBE BEHIND THE ICEMAKER OUT AND SEE INSIDE IF IT IS FROZEN,IF NOT ALL THAT'S WRONG IS THE WATER INLET VALVE ON LOWER BACK OF FRIG.IS BAD,YOU HAVE A WATER DISPENSER HOSE ON ONE SIDE AND A ICEMAKER HOSE ON THE OTHER,THE ICE MAKER SIDE OF THE VALVE IS BAD,THANKS-MIKE
