Navigation Pad Won't Work

This is the same problem I have! Try cleaning the resistive touch-pad (located under the sticker in the center) and the ribbon wire connecting it (green and flat with 4 strips of metal in it) with a bit of Windex or rubbing alcohol. The pad has various wires of different resistances in it and when certain groups are connected (touched) their resistance combines. For this to actually work, the pad has to be super clean and free of any corrosion.

Try to take apart the player and disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect, reassemble and try charging it over the USB cable. It appears that some people have had some success after full disconnection of the battery from player. Alternatively, try eBay for a new battery - there are plenty there.

From my experience this is a hardware fault with the touchpad. Luckily you can buy a faulty player on ebay and replace the touchpad - make sure the fault on the faulty one is not the same!

The player is is easy to take apart and the touchpad easy to replace.

This is a common hardware fault with this player. I guess it is why the model has been replaced.

The cheapest solution is to buy a faulty player from ebay - around £10 including postage and replace your faulty one. Make sure to check the faulty one does not have the touchpad fault.

It is straightforward to replace the touchpad.

you cant't charge the mp3 like that because samsung and ipod are tow diferrent companies and if you could you might enup frying your mp3 so try buyng the car charger for the yp-z5.
