Dead tv We were watching TV with no problems whatsoever. There was a "pop" then the TV went completely dead, no power, nothing. We tried replacing the lamp, but still nothing...any idea what happened? It's a Panasonic PT-50LC14 that's only 2-3 years old. Thanks!

Had the same problem with our PT-50LC14, last night, 12/20/07. Heard a pop sound and the TV went dead. Tried to turn it on and the power light comes on blinking green instead of steady then you two light grilling noise which stops and repeats continually. Called Panasonic Tech but they could not give a clue and only gave us numbers to call Service....which has appointment in next year....any quick help will be appreciated..

Same thing happened to me New Years day 2008. Tried following fix instructions in manual ( turn power on several times) but does not work. Red lamp indicator flashes red every 5 seconds and never received a "lamp needs to be replaced" message. So I assume it is not a lamp replacement problem.

power supply faulty circuit diagram needed

I had a pop and the tv went blank. I was told to replace the lamp but I can't find the manual. I took off the back and I am not sure where the lamp is. I googled the manual but can't find a diagram of the back of the TV. Now I'm not sure what is wrong.

Sounds like a power supply problem. I am sure that the pop is the fuse blown. If the fuse is blown, this means that there is a short somewhere. Rear projection TV are like LCD projectors. And all of them use Switch mode power supply. If you are lucky, there is a chance that a protection device (like a varistor) is sorted. This means that removing this, even without replacing will bring your TV to life, however... Most probably the power supply is defective.

ViewSonic N3252W LCD TV went pop and completely died. No power whatsoever. Not even the red light indicator that is always on as long as its plugged in.

The main power regulator board [SMPS board] has damaged. It should be replaced. Normally there is no repair to these boards. Only card base replacement is done. Check this to know more.

Im getting no power whatsoever heard a pop last time i turned it on now nothing

The tv power supply board it is dead. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.U have all the tools and understanding basic electronic also can do basic soldering work?Yes,take ur tv aparts.Check the whole power supply board carefully,by replacing all those blown capacitors that are busted open and all those capacitors are dying going to dead like bulging up or puffing up on to it tops.Replacing all those dead capacitors to a those new capcitors,do some modification of the capacitors parts like by replacing it in the same Micro fered, but the voltages should be 5 or 10 higher than those old busted or dying bulging up tops capacitors.By replacing all these dead capacitors and dying capacitors with a higher voltages capacitors. These capacitor to have a better chances to take more heat resistance, while tv be watching for hours of using. The tv should have power and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

No power

I also have this television and the power just went out. But, before there was a smell. I did not hear the pops. The television is 3 years old.

What do you suggest. What could be the problem. It appears that others have had this problem.

No Power

Your set is going into high voltage shut down. Might have been the high voltage transformer that has gone bad.
