Dead tv We were watching TV with no problems whatsoever. There was a "pop" then the TV went completely dead, no power, nothing. We tried replacing the lamp, but still nothing...any idea what happened? It's a Panasonic PT-50LC14 that's only 2-3 years old. Thanks!

Had the same problem with our PT-50LC14, last night, 12/20/07. Heard a pop sound and the TV went dead. Tried to turn it on and the power light comes on blinking green instead of steady then you two light grilling noise which stops and repeats continually. Called Panasonic Tech but they could not give a clue and only gave us numbers to call Service....which has appointment in next year....any quick help will be appreciated.. Same thing happened to me New Years day 2008. Tried following fix instructions in manual ( turn power on several times) but does not work. Red lamp indicator flashes red every 5 seconds and never received a "lamp needs to be replaced" message. So I assume it is not a lamp replacement problem.
