Question about LG 30FZ4D TV

Sound problem every now and then my tv emmits a high pitch hum. it is low in volume and will last for a few minutes and then vanish. its occurance is very ramdon, nothing for a few weeks then constant for a few days. it's not coming out of the speakers but instead from the back of the unit. it's a lg 30fz4d. thanks.

    it's not so much a hiss as it is a mmmmmmmmm. i haven't noticed any smell associated with it but the tv is located in our basement which could contribute to the dust and humidity.

Is it a hissing sound ? If it is a hissing sound and you can smell ionized air (ozone) then there may be some high voltage leaks (corona discharge) in the High voltage supply coming from the flyback transformer. This happens when there is a path to ground because of dirt dust or spider web, or your surrounding is humid.

    One of the source of hum (60hz) vibration are coils and transformer core.

If the component cables are to connect your television and they are not correctly connected, this can cause a greenish colour picture to occur on the screen of the TV . A high colour tint setting will generally create a green image on the TV's screen where as a low tint will create a more red hue then. Samsung HLS-6167W shuts off every few minutes. I replaced the lamp 3x and recently the lamp ballast and #2 fan. Problem continues, so should I look at the power supply board or the color wheel?
if the sounds a high pitch squeal !! I had an ole tv that did that when u watched it , finally one day the dang power supply up and gave out !! so that must be what the noise was coming from all that time !!!

High Pitch Sound From Samsung TXN3071WHF 30" TV
I think its the flyback and its starting to leak. this is a component responsible for the high voltage of your tv set. always observe safety in dealing with this. Have it check by a qualified technician. Good luck!
