My Akai LCT2785TA TV turns on, audio works, just no picture. If I shine a light on the display, I can very faintly see the image. Much googling tells me I likely need to replace the inverter. So, I opened the back of the TV, and, I'll be honest, I don't understand where the inverter is. I can see what I believe is the power control board and the main board, but no inverter. Can anyone help or do you know where I can find a diagram? Thanks.
Hay the inverter board is under the subframe that the main and power boards are mounted to.You have to remove the main board "big long board in middle" NOTICE the cable, top center of main bord wich runs under main board, wich is connected to the inverter board! So becareful when lifting the main board. After you have removed the main board.Remove the screws around the sides of subframe.Unplug cables as needed.Hope this helps. NoSugarTonight
Diagrams are not to be found for most modern sets as they only sell boards---
google the model with "parts" to locate the board which in most cases will have a photo of it---then you know what to look for
I've already done that and know what the inverter looks like for my model. However, it must be in a non-obvious location because I don't see it after removing the back and yet another panel that exposed the main board. There's yet another level of casing where I believe there are more boards, but I'm hesitant to fish around to figure out how to get in there. I'd rather know what I'm looking for and know the way I'm going about it is the correct way.

You do know that this model TV takes about 5-10 seconds to come on after you press the on button, right?
Press it once to get the green LED, then wait. If it doesn't display the blue AKAI splash screen within 15 seconds, the TV is not working as it should.
Also remember that this model has two RF input jacks. As seen from the back of the TV, the jack on the far right is the one to use for analog TV, analog cable, coax out to TV from a cable box, or rf out from a vcr.
Don't use the one on the far left. It is for input to the ATSC OTA DTV tuner only.
Most likely there is a real problem with your TV, but in the video, you are pressing the on/off button in rapid succession. That will never work with this model.

Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items called capacitors on the circuit boards. If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again.I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!
