''Blew'' my power strip and can't reset it.

I have a MonsterPower Home Theatre Power Center HTS 950 power strip/surge protector. I ''blew'' it when I added a portable heater to it. It usually has just the tv/dvr/dvd/speakers plugged in. I can't reset it. Any suggestions?

My hdmi ports aren't working when tried blank screen comes on I can plug the cable connection in and have cable

If you don't have it plugged into a surge protector box it may have fried your connections. If you do have a surge protector, try reseting or push power button on surge protector unit.

Sony KDL 46HX820 turns on, then off and red light blinks four times.

Re: Bravia KDL46EX720. Red LED blinks 4 times and TV wont turn on. What is the problem?

Do a Power Reset.

1. Turn off the TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.

If the issue still persists after performing power reset, that may be an indication that the TV needs service. You may refer to this link to locate the nearest Sony authorized service center in your area.

We had a power surge in our living room while the TV was on. It was also plugged into a surge protector, however, everything else turned back on but the TV. There is no power going into it at all, as if...

Sounds like it might have blew a fuse on the AC input to the power supply, have to remove the back and look for a fuse near where the AC wires go from the plug on the tv. If the fuse is good
the power supply board will have to be checked or replaced..Next time consider buying a surge
protector that starts clamping at a lower voltage. Panamax brands usually start going to work
at 150v rms, where most others start at 330v rms..

We didnt have a surge protector on our tv we purchased from home shopping net. and lihtning came in the line and i guess hit our tv can it be fixed or is it worth fixing price wise i hate to throw it away...

Look at the power supply module, most of them will have a surge protection devices (called MOV, same as used in common surge power strip but cannot handle big surge that power strip can handle) installed to protect minor surge, it should blow the fuse. Once MOV blown, it will more likely stay short circuit, if you put the new fuse in it will blow the fuse right away. You need to see if the MOVs blew up any sign of blown up components.

Mitsubishi WS- 65809 65 INCH

If your TV is not powering on you probably blew the power supply. These TV are sensitive to power surges. Be sure to use a power strip with power filtering technology (different from a surge protector) costing around $80.00
