43H70 Blue Convergence out of line and will not line back up

When trying to get the convergence to line up, the blue will not line up to allow the white cross to focus red, green and blue. This causes the screen when viewing to have a blue outline behind the normal picture. Help would be appreciated.

I also tried adusting the red and blue lines. They don't line up, the blue line is at a 10 degree angle from the cross or t on the screen and it won't go back.

If the blue colors will not line up, and the blue appears to sag inward from one or more sides, then you can bet that one of your convergence IC's has either cracked loose or burned out. The IC should be resoldered or replaced and the convergence realigned by someone experienced with projection TV convergence circuits.

Replaced convergence ic's and picture is good but still no blue color to adjust in the convergence mode. the blue bulb is lit in back.

You may have pressed a wrong button when in service mode---it allows among other things to turn individual colors off like Blue--to make it easy to adjust red to green first.

Also take a look with set on into the Blue lens to make sure you have a image and it does not look like a blue flood light.

a last note: if you tampered with the lens (they have a wing nut on side that allows them to be turned you may have on the blue turned the lens so far there is no focus---for that lens--Did you?

My Toshiba 43H70 started having the blue bow up at the bottom. Green and red are good. Convergence will move it a little, but not enough. Any ideas?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

you will need a tech to come out and check the control unit on your set.

Resetting convergence daily on Toshiba 43h70

Hi Mark, tough call without putting a scope to the circuit, either the convergence IC`s are going bad, signal from DCU is going bad (digital convergence unit), or possibly bad solder somewhere in the convergence circuit, I`m afraid your going to need a tv tech for that problem, BMW Rider

CONVERGENCE PROBLEM IN TOSHIBA 43H70

Hello Renee, You have a convergence problem, but you are adjusting the wrong system. You need to adjust the convergence rings first ok You need a dot and crosshatch generator to properly set convergence for this set. Connect the generator set the TV to channel 3 and turn on the generator set it to dots adjusting the convergence try to get the center dot RGB all together and then adjust for the outer edges using the convergence board. the use the crosshatch to adjust convergence along the lines of the crosshatch pattern. Remember use the rings first and the the convergence board adjustments.
