Question about Technics SA-AX720 Receiver

1 Answer

Technics SA-AX720 Moved system for decorating, hooked it up exactly as before. Now I can hear sound from the right channel but the left chennel produces a clicking sound, changing the speakers over produces the same effect.

    Technics SA-AX720 Receiver Problem:

    Hi there!

I need specific advice for this receiver which I recently bought from yard sale.

Irrespective of inputs, viz. phono or tuner,

    symptom:

when the logic/prologic selector on the left is turned to "off", i.e. 2-way stereo only, it works ok with either speakers A or B and or with surround sound speakers.

However, when this selector is turned to Surround Sound, or Stereo 3, or in any one of the Pro logic modes, the sound from all speakers & headphone may suddenly go off or may come back some time later, but often NOT.

Some times when I turned off the power and turned it back on, it works again, but often NOT.

If I switch off the speakers (A) and/or (B), the headphone works.

Any solid solution (e.g. suggest whichever component may go wrong) will oblige!

Look for lossing solders points or bad conections. Start to look on those components of hi wattage and components to get hot alot, those are the most common to have weak solders spots.
Also some equipment need to be clean because the dust can make problems.
good luk.

Can i hookup a television to my receiver for sound

Yes. You can hook it up using a digital coax or optical cable. Use can also use old stereo, analog, left and right channel audio. Use any audio input on your Technics, that will accept any of the inputs above.

Trying to hook up SH-AC500D to SA-AX720 Receiver. I wanna know the right wires to use. Thank you

Connect the 6-channel analog outputs of the AC500 to the 6-channel analog inputs on the AX720 using 3 RCA cable pairs.

http://archiwumallegro.pl/technics_shac500d_procesor_surround_ddigital_dts-1215399983.html

Digital sources will enter the AC500 and be converted to 5.1 analog output.

Be advised, that input on the receiver will not allow any internal DSP manipulation. WYSIWYG.

Max. wattage for speakers w/ Technics Receiver SA-GX100?

I too have a Technics SA-GX100 and it's rated at 2 x 40W @ 8 Ohms. I have the Technics SB-2840 floor model speakers hooked to it, which are rated at 200W Music Input - 8 ohms. It sounds very nice just to be a 40W receiver.

SA-AX720 no subwoofer signal?

THIS UNIT HAS NO SUB WOOFER AMP IN IT. THE ONLY WAY TO OVER COME THIS IS TO HOOK THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT SPEAKERS STRAIGHT TO THE SUB WOOFER AND THEN GO FROM THE SUB WOOFER BACK TO THE INPUTS ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT FOR THE FRONT SPEAKERS. THE SUB WOOFER THIS WAY WILL EXTRACT THE BASS AND THE FRONT WILL RECEIVE THEIR PART. THIS SOUNDS CRAZY AS HELL I KNOW BUT THAT'S HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK. THE OUTPUT FOR THE SUBWOOFER IS USELESS AND PUT THERE FOR YOU TO HOOK UP AN AMP FOR A SUB WOOFER. EVERYTHING HAS SHORT COMINGS, AND THAT'S THE ONE FOR THE AX-720.
