For a reason that i do not know, my camcorder stopped recording images although it does record sound. when i play back on the lcd the images upto the cut off date display but thereafter just sound. the same result when playing back on the tv. can anyone suggest what i might try? thanks in advance,

Try using a different tape or cd. It could be faulty media.
