Question about Dirt Devil M086700 Vision Bagless Upright Vacuum

2 Answers

Suction problem Hi, I have a 1.5 year old Dirt Devil Vision vacuum and since I changed the filter the suction is not working. The vacuum sounds normal, but there is no dust in the dirt container after I vacuum the carpet. The filter is clean, even after I use the vacuum for 30 minutes or more. Do you have any idea how I could fix it? thank you in advance, Ana

My dirt devil vision has no suction power and I have changed the filter and cleaned anything I saw that may have been clogging it, what do I do?

I have a dirt devil vision M086700W and it has suction for a while but no dirt is going into the canister, eventually plugging the hose. I clean out the hose and it has suction again but nothing in the canister...etc.

I also have a Dirt Devil Vision bagless that I am having problems with. I have terrific suction with the hose but none from the brush area. My husband has taken it apart and found nothing visibly wrong with it. No clogs, missing bits or breaches in the hoseing. The brush works fine and the filter is brand new. We are baffled.

We've had our Dirt Devil almost a year - my old Wind Tunnel seemed to have better suction. The price on the Dirt Devil is what sold me. I guess I got what I paid for. I constantly clogs and looses suction. My son and I have both taken our Dirt Devil apart multiple times. We've removed clogs, replaced the filter, etc. and STILL not very good suction. I would love to hear a solution!

Check the intake hose at the bottom it may be clogged.try blowing into the long hose if you can't blow through it then you have a clog somewhere between the long hose and your intake hose at the bottom.the intake hose is the somewhat clear hose that comes up from behind the base at the bottom.you will see it on the backside

if you have changed the filter and still no suction the you have a clog in your intake hose.thats the clear hose.you can see it from the back.there are 2 screws 1 on the conector where the clear hose atatches and one behind the dirt cup.take those out and take the conector off and stick a coat hanger through it to remove the clog .make sure not to puncture the hose

Sounds like you have a leak in the suction path
look for a broken hose or seal

Durt Devil upright 12 amp Vision Vacuum Cleaner

If there no blockages in the hoses, then the next thing to check would be any filters in the vacuum. When these get clogged, you will experience this problem.

Vacuum Problem

The Bissell can have several filters in it, depending on the model. Some have a round hepa filter that is covered with a foam sleeve. This filter is located at the bottom of the dirt cup. Others have a foam filter that is located under the dirt cup in a pull out drawer. Also, they can have a cylindrical separator above the dirt cup which can be removed and washed. They are usually a blue plastic and you reach in and turn it a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to remove. If your machine has the hepa filter, when you remove the dirt cup, the filter is at the bottom and you turn the bottom 1/4 turn and the clear housing will come off to access the filter. You should also check the small filter on the machine just below where the cup sits. This will only be there if your machine has the hepa filter on it.
