SOURCE: jenn air jed 8430 electric cooktop control switch for rear burner

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.

My jenn-air 8430 cooktop left front burner cycles off-on in the HIGH position. What could be wrong?

Hi,

I am assuming your cooktop is electric and your have a glass top, if so the burners sensor is bad and you might need to replace the burner. Again before buying anything and for me to help you, I would need a full model number. Some model have plate sensors and with no plate/pot burner cycles. Most of the time I find the sensor in the burner cant detect the heat and this ends up being a safety issue to protect the unit. All this information is based on the premise you have an electric cooktop and a glass surface.

I hope this helps.

your ignition button is sticking down after you press it to light the burners, give it a few taps and clean underneath the button.

Jen Air left front small burner does not heat up.

these are cartridge elements corrrect? try reversing the cartidges, now the front small will become the rear small . does it not work in this position? and the newly placed front burner work?? this will determine if the proble lies within the cartridge or the switches

Ge profile ceramic electric cooktop

No recalls that I know of.  The switch for that burner has shorted and will need to be replaced.  It will be fine once it is repaired.
