I bought my daughter the same Webcam lifecam VX 3000 as we have it worked fine for a bit but now the audio is way off on her end...meaning its like she has static along with her audio - she can hear me fine - i can see her but the sound is messed up. I talk to others with my skype and don not have problems wiht anyone else. Can you make a suggestion?

I have a similar problem. When I use the windows sound recorder it works fine but all I get is static when I try using the microphone with Skype or the Windows speech recognition test program. What you can do is click the Sound Icon beside the Nudge Button. It might bring up a window titled "Set up Audio and Video - Speaker/Microphone or Speakerphone" the Microsoft Vx-3000 has a microphone built in, so you can change your audio settings to "Microsoft Vx-3000" , then click next. The next one is Webcam. You can change the default settings to Microsot vx-3000.
If you've tried changing your settings for MSN before, then I'm not sure. This is the clever way for me :P
do a cam/mic test in the audio/video settings in the tools tab in yahoo/msn. Then you need to minimise the yahoo/msn screen and right click on the cam icon in the taskbar and check that the mic and cam are enabled and that it is set to allow other programes to take control of this device
