Whirlpool washer model LSQ8543J Ultimate Care II wont spin during the high spin cycle, washer doesn't stop running during that cycle though.
its as if the brake assembly wont dis-engage during that cycle. any help?

I have the same model and experiencing the same problem.
my washer will go through all cycles fine but wont spin on spin cycle.
I just had reapir man out and he said the washer transmission is leaking and spraying grease inside the housing onto the clutch belt that drives the basket around & around. The grease causes the belt to slip a little at first and gets so bad eventiually that it doesn't drive the basket at all.
The fis is $300 to replace the leaking transmission and belt.
