Error 361 Keep getting error 361 when I turn printer on and go the scan mode. Help please !

I've the same problem. Error 361 in the scan mode with MP 780. The offical Canon support told me it's a mechanical problem and I've to bring it to the service. But scaning works and printing isn't a problem too. So I don't believe its a mechanical Problems. Looks more like a Firmeware-bug.

Hi

This error comes due to NV RAMof the printer. To diagnose this issue you'll need to reset the NV RAM of your printer, you can do that by entering the service mode. To do this turn on the machine. Press menu button the printer. Press scan button, then press copy and then scan button again to enter the service mode. Use > to go to NV RAM access. Set abs-m level to 0. Set abs-p level to 0. Press stop to exit.

This will resolve your issue. If still not resolved then try the above procedure by restarting it once.

Error ##361

Error 361 is a fault in the purge assembly, you can clean or replace it, but it also could be the main pcb, a $250.00 part on this machine.

go to service mode by *2&8 * then you can release the error E075,Asterisk(*) button is in left side of control panel just lift the small cover .hope this will help

My MFC 8860DN does not scan or copy but instead says please wait

Turn the machine off and hold menu while turning it on and keep holding it while the machine starts up. This should go into maint mode.

When it gets into maint mode you can try 99 to exit. This is like a soft reset. Hard reset is hitting 01 in maint mode and then 99 to exit.
