Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs.

Unpluged my computer to get repaired, have 3 different speaker type plug ins the back, don't remember which one to use. Their color coded, blue-green- pink

In many cards, the microphone connector will be pink, the speakers or line out or headphone will be lime green, and the stereo line in will be light blue. Additional jacks may be present on newer soundcards for rear and mid surround speakers.

This is a widely accepted color standard for computer sound card input and output jacks, but connector colors may vary between different brands. If you think you have a nonstandard card, consult your soundcard's manual or the manufacturer's web site before making any connections.

When moving the 51pw9363 will the color be affected by weather and movement, TV's color was good and then moved to the basement now the color is all messed up tried the convergence seem to have no effect

Usually temperature will not have a big affect but high humidity will. I would suspect the convergence amps have possibly developed loose solder joints from the move. They are mounted on heavy duty heat sinks that can move a lot and crack joints. Hard to say. Thanks for using fixya.

Distorted picture and pink and green color only

Are you using the 3 wire component video input. If so commonly the wires are switched or one is bad. be sure wires are color matched on both ends.

If you cannot align those crosses, then the convergence section is damaged. should be repaired by a qualified technician, its a big job.

My Philips 51PW9363 looks like someone is pinching the screen in the middle from the top and bottom. No color, sound or other problems that I've noticed.

Your TV most likely has a Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Pink shade more in NEC WT-610 PROJECTOR

Using the on screen menu, check the hue or wall color settings. [Hue]
Varies the color level from +/- green to +/-blue. The red level is used as reference. This adjustment is only valid for
Video, Component and TV standard inputs (not valid for RGB and DVI digital).

Using the Wall Color Correction [Wall Color]
This function allows for quick adaptive color correction in applications where the screen material is not white.
The following nine options are available.

Color seems to be pealing up from the bottom of screen

If the screen is bouncing...expanding/shrinking you need to get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com

If your screen looks 3d in color, has a stationary bow, or if you can't adjust one or more colors from the "convergence" menu you need to buy a convergence repair kit. You can get one from the same site listed above.

Hope this Helps,
