Turn off the player. Enable the hold switch for it to show orange/red color. Press and hold the record and menu button until the player says welcome to recovery mode. ==Have you updated the firmware of the player?=== IF no Please continue.== Download the firmware of the player at sandisk.com and run and install it on your computer. When the firmware updater ask you to connect a device connect the player to the computer and perform the update on the player.

I just got a SDmicro 2G to 'add on' to my MP3 player Sansa e200. I have inserted the card and got the reading: "Refresh Database". I do not have the owners manual anymore so I am not sure how to do...

You don't have to do anything. Just wait and let the Sansa refresh its database. It shows a progress bar to indicate progress.

You can download the manual from

(e260R) Refresh Database eternal loop

Turn it on into recovery mode (Hold + Record Button + Power)
Connect to computer (You should detect a 16MB drive)
Make an empty text file inside the 16MB Drive and rename it to "sansa.fmt"
Unplug the Sansa. You should see now a "Formatting..." on the Sansa's screen.
Sansa fixed!

Refresh database

Sansa e200 provides a RESET function for unresponsive units. Press and hold the MENU button for 15 seconds, and this should work to regain normal funtionality. Please note: settings and adjustments from the last operation WILL BE LOST. The files however should remain.

Sansa e200 shows refresh database fail

Try emailing SanDisk technical support team at: [email protected] And ask them for the Recovery Mode firmware upgrade (Also send them the problem the way you posted it here). They should send you a link to some firmware upgrade file. You could also try calling them at: 1-866-726-3475 but an email should be sufficient because, from what I remember, it is just a link to file that you need to download. I hope that helps...
