Printer not printing items copied from canon scanner D1250U2F
Item still not resolved...
posted by yoesca on May 12, 2007
I recently installed new printer (8250) and now scanner will not "copy and print documents". I have updated drivers on scanner as well as for printer.
My previous printer, also HP photosmart 7760 never had this problem, i was able to use all functions of scanner. and now
It seems that printer doesn't recognize new printer. I have uninstalled both scanner and new printer and again reinstalled. Problem still remains. Any suggestions?

I HAVE CONTACTED HP...THEY HAVE YET TO RESPOND TO MY REQUESTS..ALL 24 OF THEM.
AS FOR THE TRYING THE OLD SOFTWARE FROM OLD PRINTER...GOOD TRY...BUT THAT SOFTWARE DOESN'T WORK WITH 8250.
THANKS FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE ANYWAY..IT IS APPRECIATED.

:O( sorry this didn't work
Thanks..I thought of this...but isn't it strange that this scanner worked with the previous HP printer 7760 and not the newer 8250? I was quite shocked when HP didn't respond to any of my requests to this problem..especially since they've always responded to other questions i have had in general.
Really appreciate your help Jackboy!!Thanks..I thought of this...but isn't it strange that this scanner worked with the previous HP printer 7760 and not the newer 8250?

Re:
Connecting a non HP scanner[Canon] to the printer may be a software mod on the printer so that it will only work with HP devices.
The only way round that if this is the case is to work through a third party software[image editor]

The same thing happen to me. I have Windows XP. Try using the Scanners and Cameras Wizard.
Connect the MP470 to your computer, have it on and place the item to scan onto the scanner.
Go to the Start Menu
Click on Printers and Faxes
On the left of the screen there is an area titled, "Other Places"
Under the Other Places heading, click Scanners and Cameras
Select the WIA Canon MP470 device(double-click) This should open the Scanner and Camera Wizard.
Click Next and you will be taken to the Choosing Scanning Preferences screen. Here you can select picture type. If you click the Preview button your device will scan your item and display it in the preview box. Otherwise click Next.
Click Next to name the file, choose a file format and where to save it.
try copying in colour first......see if tht works .....if not chk out if the cartridges are inserted properly....next you can clean the copper contacts on the cartridges with a piece of cloth....if it copies fine then check for the installed drivers in the control panel.try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them back again...try deleting the registry VID and PID keys if possible.....it should work for you......
i have found the way to scan items from a Canon MX310 (on windows)
1.On windows go to control panel 2. click hardware and sounds 3. then hit devices and printers 4. then click on the Canon Inkjet MX310 seriers 5. then you will see scanner management click on scan Photos or docs 6.then place the photo or doc under the scanner and hit scan!
That is all the steps you will need. 17 years old computer tech.
check HP tech help re this- obviously if the previous HP worked and now the new one does not then there has been a change.
If you still have the old printer disk or software.
try reloading that and see if the new printer will operate through it
This is a compatibility issue between the Copy function of Toolbox and the specific HP printer driver. The only work-around would be to scan your image and save it, then print it from another application. One other possibility would be to get Toolbox version 2.2.x from the N650U scanner download page. This version will be limited in functionality, but COPY button should function as expected.
