This scanner may have a parallel and a USB port. Use the USB port, if it exists.
If not, connect the scanner to the parallel port, then connect the printer to the pass-through port on the scanner.
This can be problematic, requiring changes to the BIOS and driver difficulties. A USB scanner is a better solution, and they are cheap nowadays.

I recommend using the USB cable. (Just like hooking up your printer)
Make sure that you download and install the software listed below USB click here for the software Visioneer doesn't allow you to download the software to utilize the scanner on their site. So hopefully you still have what came with the scanner. If not windows 7/vista should allow for very low level functionality.
Make sure You have driver for it. Drivers are available on numerous sites for it. Any USB connection on the system unit should work with the installation.
Attach one end of a parallel port cable to the parallel (printer) port on your computer and the other end of the cable to the computer port on the rear of the scanner. If you have a printer connected to your computer, you must disconnect the printer cable from the computer before connecting the scanner cable. If you have trouble attaching a cable connector to a port, be sure that you are connecting the correct end of the cable to the correct port. IF. . . you want to use a printer WITH your scanner, attach one end of the printer cable to the printer port on the rear of the scanner and attach the other end of the cable to the printer. Plug in power cord and then power up PC. Power on scanner. Install drivers. Restart PC to activate EZ Station buttons.
hey guys hawaiianborn, pr princess.
i think in the scanner area , there is one hook which hold the scanner , when u start the scanner the hook is relased . it because of the hook is stuck and is not able to release the hook u re getting the horrible sound.
call up the customer try for the replacement
You are going to need a 25 way cable a "Printer" type cable, A Male to Male, BUT with ALL 25 pins wired thru pin To Pin. This plugs straight into the "Printer" port.
These machines often have a "Pass Through" port on them so ya can also connect to a Printer, however if ya printer is USB then it's NOT used.
I found drivers below.
