sounds like a bad smps or bad display. I would try the smps, but if that doesn't do it the display costs as much as the tv most likely.

Sir press the screen mode button in your remote below input select button, press the screen mode button repeatedly to select smart, 4:3, wide, zoom, or 14:9.

If the screen is cracked, it will cost more that what the TV is worth. Are you just getting black screen but still have sound? Otherwise it can be the backlight inverter board is bad or it is not getting power from the main power supply section.

You have either permanently damaged the LCD display or the inverter board ( which is repairable )
The display will be almost the cost of a new set.

Maybe the backlight is out, can you see a picture when shining a flashlight on the screen. if yes you have either a bad inverter power supply or bad screen (panel).

What you will need to do is grab your remote that came with the tv - click "Menu">select "Settings">go down to "Screen" and make sure that:

1. Wide Mode reads "Full"
2. Auto Wide reads "On"
3. Display Area reads "Full Pixel"
