I have an element lcdtv 32inch. The tv is less than a year old, i was watching the tv and it just shut off. The red light is on, when i go to power it up, the blue light comes on for a second then blinks, and goes back to red. I know its not a brand name tv, but for 600 bucks, it should last for more than 8 months. Anyone have any advice ?

This was the same thing that happened to me. When I took it apart and checked the power supply the capacitor (largest on the board) was blown. I called Element Electronics, which turned out to be Polaroid, and they sold me the entire control box assembly for appx $115 with a $100 core deposit to ship my old assembly back. My core deposit was credited back to my account within 2-weeks. BTW, when mine went out I had no power light on at all. Lastly, If you have questions about doing this yourself let me know, while I'm no electrical engineer, I did a ton of research trying to solve the problem.

Element FLX-1910
Problem: When the TV is turned on a picture appears for a few seconds and then the picture turns off. Audio is still heard.
Solution: Not a simple fix! This TV has 4 small florescent looking bulbs that act like a back light to light the image on the liquid crystal display (LCD). At least one of these bulbs is burned out or broken. The wires powering the broken bulb need to be cut and spiced together. Basically you’re bypassing the bulb and completing the circuit when cutting the wires going to the bulb on each end and splicing them together.
WARNING: This worked for me but no guarantee for anyone who tries it. This is a very involved procedure and involves completely dismantling your television. To be honest I don’t recommend anyone trying to fix it unless you are very technically minded and have a couple of hours to waste carefully tearing apart your TV. If anyone is willing to attempt this repair I am willing answer questions.
Cause of problem: It is my guess that this problem occurs when the TV is left on for extended periods of time. Like leaving the TV on when you fall asleep at night. My TV was left on a lot. I noticed that the plastic was melted and discolored where the bulb had burned out. (This can only be seen internally and is no way visible from the exterior)
SOURCE: Can't remove stand from Element flx 1910 TV.
On the bottom of the Element FLX-1910 there are 4 tabs located on the bottom side of the base. With the help of another person, please slide all 4 tabs in an inward direction. This will release the tension between the base and the stand. Slide the base over the tabs and remove the base from the stand.
