Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive
I have been working with my SanDisk U3 Cruzer 4.0 GB for a month on a MAC and PC running Windows XP at the office. The Flash disk worked OK with the other MAC at home. Yesterday, I tried tranfer data to my Dell Laptop with Windows XP and the light couldn't stop flashing for a long time until the system reported an error. Since then, the flash disk is not working on all of my computers (MAC or No MAC). There is a whole lot of data on the disk that I badly need to save (literally). All I need is to access that data once and then I will through away the disk and not buy another SanDisk ever again. Please help if there is anyone who has managed to sort out this problem. I will watch the site for kind suggesting. EC
Have you tried using linux live cd's to access the usb device?
You can download a small linux distribution called puppy, burn the iso onto a cd, boot from the cd, at the keyboard prompt go to whatever language and style you are using (US- QWERTY)
then select VESA for display properties, choose the resolution your monitor will support 1024X768X32 etc. on the desktop single click on drives/storage "mount" the usb drive, mount the hard drive, copy files from usb to hard drive.

Try putting in the deep freeze over night and see if it fires up next day.- they do go down these things. I have seen one get so hot the casing started to melt - but it still worked OK
