TV sounds like it turns on, light changes from green to red. No picture comes up.

I turned on the tv an hour after a power outage was restored. a "sparking" sound came from the rear right(when facing the set)and no picture come on. ! what are possible causes 2 how do i access the inside. Does the front frame come off and remove the glass or go in behind?

JVC LT40A320 turns on but no picture. Replaced Power Supply & Backlight Inverter (TV was hit by a lightning surge, would not do anything at first) now the green light comes on but no picture or sound.

Since your TV was struck by lighting, the power supply is the first board that gets affected by the sudden change in AC power.. The main board is the next board due to the fragile components and the excess of voltage that is supplied to it when the lighting happened. Since you have replaced the power supply already.. I would suggest to replace the main board and that should restore the functionality on your TV.

Tv turned off by itself, red light came on. when i turned it back on if had a flashing green light the turned solid green, there was sound but no picture, it turned off again within 2 minutes of turning it...

The flashing light red power light should only stay while the fan cool down for about 1 minute after a power off (remember to always wait before unplugging the TV so the lamp can cool down with the fan). Does that flashing start right away after plugging back the TV after an hour of letting it without AC power.

The red light should flash no longer than 10 sec. This prepare the light to be turned on. If all is OK the green should stay (no longer flashing) and the sound and picture come on.

As for the lamp flashing, i bet it's only 1 time each 5 sec? Or do it group many rapid flash each 5 sec?

Things that can be wrong:
-the fan lamp

-the lamp is not proprely inserted (wait an hour before manipulating it to be sure it cooled down, and use glove to not put body oil on it).

-Lamps is defective and is not operating properly so you can't get to the usual on screen message that recommend to change the lamp.

My akai flat screen tv is not turning on. the red light at the bottom of the tv is on and when the tv comes on the red light turns green and in a few seconds the tv comes on, when i press the power button...

i have one of these akai 27 inch with dvd, i had a similar issue i found a power supply at auction and exchanged it and it works fine now, normally with this symptom your power supply is fualty. if the light goes green and you have no picture then you know other boards are fualty

Unplug,replug should be back to normal,not than U must change the power supply.

Green power light comes on for a split second, then red.

Sounds like the typical power surge created by the outage has caused a power supply problem inside your TV. IF that is it, there not much you can do yourself.

I moved my Toshiba 57h94 a feet today. Now, when I turn it on via hdmi cable connection, it looks fine for 4 seconds and then flashes to a bright green full screen. No pic and no function on the cable remote. The streaming cable from the Roku box plays fine. I tried a new hdmi to hdmi cable...no luck.
